Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license in the state of Louisiana
- Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or equivalent, if applicable
- Prior experience working with children in a school or clinical setting preferred
- Must meet all local and state requirements for the role
- Must pass a background check and clearances as required by district regulations
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in delivering speech and language therapy services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders
- Help in conducting speech and language screenings and assessments
- Implement therapy plans as directed by the SLP and provide direct services to students
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions
- Provide support in creating and following individualized therapy plans
- Collaborate with teachers and other school professionals to support student progress
- Assist in the preparation of materials and resources for therapy sessions
- Communicate effectively with parents and other team members about student progress
